Congrats to Franco Tavera for being 1 of the selected 18 in the Nation to participate in the True Pike Challenge!

What is the True Pike Challenge?

"The True Pike Challenge is a seven day field course operated by BOSS in southwest Utah. It’s designed to educate participants on how to survive, emphasis on survival; in the desert wilderness with little to no assistance from any modern technologies. For seven days, students navigate their way across courses specifically designed for Pi Kappa Alpha with little food and nothing more than what they can carry on their backs. If this sounds difficult, or extreme, that’s because it is difficult and extreme. That is not to say that this program is limited to those only in peak physical condition. I will tell you that the vast majority of people are physically capable of completing this challenge. Yet, due to the intensity, most of the descriptions tend to focus on the physical challenges themselves, and while they are important, I believe the most significant aspect of the True Pike Challenge is the rare opportunity it provides participants in the absence of any distractions or excuses to search themselves for all the inner strength they possess." (Shield and Diamond, Autumn '08)

Congrats to PIKE's Logan Mack on winning ΦM's Big Man On Campus!!!

Zeta Omega sends twelve brothers to the

2009 Pi Kappa Alpha Academy

The Zeta Omega Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette recently sent eleven members to the Academy in Memphis, TN. The Academy was graciously hosted by the University of Memphis and turned out to be a huge success with over 500 undergrad Pi Kappa Alpha undergrads in attendance. The Academy is a leadersjip summit where brothers go to refine the skills needed to make Pi Kappa Alpha continue to be the best fraternity in the nation, but most importantly help the individual undergrads develop themselves into a better rounded person. Zeta Omega Chapter also took home a Ray Orians Excellence Award. 61 chapters out of 220 chapters were recipents of this award. The brothers would also like to recongize Chris Hargrave and Jordan Precht for becoming Pike University certified. The brothers of Zeta Omega who attended were Kyle Campbell, Chris Hargrave, Anthony White, Nick Arcuri, Franco Tavera, Phillip Smith, David R. Reed, John Huter, Jordan Precht, Elvis Siripannho, Tom Butler, and Mark Leblanc will take the knowledge learned and bestow it to it's other brothers who were not able to attend.
